Acrylic is a nail-extension method based on combining acrylic powder (polymer) and acrylic liquid (monomer). This technique is highly valued and widely used in Nail Art championships due to its unique properties, easy ornamentation and the spectacular effects it allows to achieve. A rich colour palette, strong pigment base and a variety of coverages or additives make it possible to create the most imaginative decorations such as abstract or stained-glass patterns, bas-reliefs, 3D designs, and even jewellery-like elements or figurines.

When sculpting nails, a key technical element of the acrylic method is the correct proportion between monomer and polymer – not only because of curing time, but also to meet expectations and achieve durable extended nails. In nail art, we can adjust the proportions depending on the effect we wish to obtain. A thinner bead allows, among other things, painting-like designs, background shading and contouring decorative elements. A great advantage of this method is that we do not need additional devices such as a UV lamp or extra time to wipe a dispersion layer, and we can work with the material during its polymerisation.
